How I Came Up With "Viral Bangers"
I was ecstatic when I came up with the name Viral Bangers.
If you’ve ever named anything important to you, you’ll appreciate the pain and effort that goes into finding something that sounds catchy.
The worse thing that can happen to any human being, that I would never wish upon my worst enemy, is finding a catchy name, and finding that the ‘.com’ domain has been bought.
Absolutely tears me apart.
Has me curled up in my bed for weeks on end, immobilised and unable to do any work.
Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating.
But my point still stands.
I’ve been getting on calls with clients and I always get the question:
“Where did the name Viral Bangers come from?”
When I first started out on YouTube, my friends and I had a whatsapp group chat where we’d share videos that we loved.
We were only allowed to share bangers.
And if you sent a video that wasn’t considered a banger, you’d be muted for a week.
Rules for what’s considered a banger:
It had to say something different from what everyone else was saying
It had to have soul to it.
Your reaction after watching it had to be “that’s fire”
Banger eventually became a term that we said everyday.
Almost instictually.
And because on YouTube we wanted to go viral.
Hence - Viral Bangers.
The goal with Viral Bangers is to write scripts to good, that your reaction after reading it is: “Woah, that’s a banger.”
And with your own scripts, you should have the same reaction.
Go and make some viral bangers.

Bryan
P.S.
I’m going to be writing short daily newsletters telling stories about my personal life.
And I’ll drop any insights that I have on YouTube/YouTube scriptwriting whenever I can.
Goal of the newsletter is that you can read this in 2minutes, and have an insight that you can apply to make your videos better.
In the meantime, I made this video on everything I learned from scripting 1000 YouTube videos. Check it out.
Btw, Bangkok is a vibe.
